10 Ways to Reduce Global Warming

Do you know what global warming is?Global warming is when heat from the sun is trapped in the air around the earth, just like heat trapped inside a car on a hot day.

What cause Global Warming?

Greenhouse gases form an invisible layer around the earth that traps the heat from the sun.  When the heat can’t escape, it makes the Earth warmer.

Using less energy = Less Greenhouse gas

1. Always turn off the lights, the TV, and computer when you are not using them.

2. Read a book or play outside instead of watching TV or playing video games.

3. Open the refrigerator only when you need to.

4. Have parents keep the thermostat at 68 Degrees to save energy in the winter. Use air conditioning only when you need it.

5. Wear a sweatshirt when it’s cold instead of turning up the heater (or thermostat).

6. Walk or ride your bike instead of riding in the car whenever possible.

7. Take the bus instead of riding in the car.

8. Car pool with friends.

9. Plant a tree to help reduce greenhouse gases and provide shade.

10. Reduce, reuse, recycle all kinds of things.
